How can I find a roommate to split hotel costs?
If you are interested in sharing a hotel room at NCCYM you need to contact your diocesan director or regional representative who will assist you in finding others who are also interested in sharing a room. NFCYM does not guarantee attendees will find a roommate or that roommate matches will be compatible.
Does it matter which hotel I choose?
NFCYM has negotiated excellent conference discounts for NCCYM attendees at two hotels in downtown New Orleans (Hilton Riveside and Embassy Suites), each within an easy three block walk of the Convention Center. For specific information on each hotel, visit the Hotel/Travel page.
How do I know if my diocese or organization is affiliated with NFCYM?
Almost ninty-five percent of U.S. dioceses are affiliated with NFCYM. For a list of affiliated dioceses, visit the NFCYM Website
Can I receive a full refund if I cannot attend NCCYM?
NFCYM will issue registration refunds, minus a $25 processing fee, for cancellation notices received by Friday, November 12, 2010. Notification must be made in writing and sent to: Progress in Planning, 14 W. Burlington Ave., Suite 14, La Grange, IL 60525, Tel: (708) 352-1677 ext. 24 - Fax: (708) 352-2117, Email: rcc@pipsite.com. Refunds will be processed in January 2011. No refunds will be issued for notices received after November 12, 2010.
Can I register on-site for NCCYM?
Advance registration is recommended, but on-site registrations are accepted.
How much does it cost to register for NCCYM?
Registration for those from affiliated dioceses who register before October 15 is $275. Registration for those from unaffiliated dioceses who register before October 15 is $300. Single day registrations, full time students and spouse event passes are $135. After October 15, 2010 all rates increase by $25 each.
Do I have to register with my diocese, or can I attend on my own?
You may do either. Though some dioceses coordinate NCCYM registration for those who are interested, others do not. Check with your diocesan office of youth ministry to see if they have put together a discount travel package. If they do not, or if the diocesan plans don't match your needs, you are free to register directly.
Who should attend NCCYM?
NCCYM provides professional development, networking, and spiritual renewal for adults who work with young people in a variety of settings. Pastors, parish staff, religious education coordinators, youth ministry coordinators and volunteers, high school and campus ministers, catechists, scout and Camp Fire leaders, liturgical and music leaders and athletic coaches at the parish, school, and diocesan level can all benefit from the opportunities offered at NCCYM.
What is the Spouse EventPass?
For $135, the EventPass allows the spouse of a fully registered participant access to the Catholic Youth Ministry Resource Exposition, all "main stage sessions" such as the general sessions, concerts and the closing liturgy on Sunday. NFCYM hopes that couples can attend this conference together in order to renew and refresh both their relationship and the ministry they provide (either directly or indirectly).

What is the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry?
Located in Washington, D.C., and led by an energetic and creative national staff, the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry is a membership organization working on behalf of youth and diocesan youth ministry leadership across the country. Members include ninety-four percent of all Catholic dioceses, the National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire, and more than sixty youth-serving organizations.
Are scholarships available to attend NCCYM?
There are three types of scholarships available to NCCYM attendees: The Regional Scholarships, Sr. Thea Bowman and the Mary Jean Hart Memorial Scholarships are all sponsored by the Catholic Youth Foundation USA. Applications are due by September 15. Applications are available on the NCCYM Registration Page.
Is there anything special happening for NACYML members?
The National Association of Catholic Youth Ministry Leaders will be having their biennial meeting and in-service on Thursday, December 9 from 9:00 am-3:30 pm just prior to NCCYM (see a full description under Program/Events - Preconferences). There is no extra fee for the meeting for NACYML members. Indicate your attendance on your registration form.
What is NACYML?
NACYML is the National Association of Catholic Youth Ministry Leaders. It is a member-driven professional organization of ordained and lay ecclesial ministers dedicated to the field of youth ministry. It is committed to strengthening and supporting its members in their ministerial practice and professional development. Membership is open to adults who view their role in youth ministry as a vocation, are committed to ongoing professional development and ministry formation, and are connected to a Catholic parish, school, diocese, or youth serving agency. NACYML Members receive a $20 discount on the NCCYM registration fee. To claim your discount, you must enter the discount code listed on the NACYML Members' website. Can I use the NCCYM logo?
NFCYM diocesan and collaborating members may download the official NCCYM logo on apparel, conference related printed materials, and other promotional items not for sale and not in competition with the sale of promotional items by the host diocese. The original design may not be modified. The logos (in color and grayscale) can be found on the NFCYM i-net (under the NCCYM link).
How many people attend NCCYM?
Attendance at NCCYM has been growing steadily over the years. Nearly 2,200 people participated, in Denver in 2004 and over 2,500 were in Las Vegas in 2006 and another 2200+ in Cleveland in 2008. We expect over 2500 to gather in New Orleans in December.
What meal options are there?
While no meals are provided as part of your registration fee, participants will have access to dozens of eateries right next door at the Riverwalk Mall. There are numerous other places to dine within easy walking distance of the Convention Center. For a list of these, go to the New Orleans page and download the related maps or links provided.
Are there any air travel discounts available?
For Airline travel, NCCYM attendees can save between 5%-15% off published fares if they book their flight on Continental Airlines. How do I get from the airport to downtown?
For airport transfers, Destination Management is providing a discounted direct express coach shuttle to the Riverside Hilton and Embassy Suites for only $34 roundtrip or $20 one-way (with no stopping anywhere else!). Taxi service to the Downtown core takes about 20 minutes, assuming reasonable traffic and costs about $35 one way.
